Privacy Policy

We collect only what we need to run the product:

• Account information: your email address, username, display name, and any bio or avatar you choose to add.
• Reading data: the books you add, the reading sessions you log (pages, time, format, notes, ratings), your streaks, goals, and stats.
• Social activity: who you follow, the props and comments you give, and the activity that appears in your feed.
• Feedback: any messages you send us through the in-app feedback form.
• Basic technical data: standard information such as your device type and general usage needed to keep the service secure and working.

We do not knowingly collect precise location data or sensitive personal information, and we do not run third-party advertising trackers.

• To provide the core product: tracking your reading, streaks, goals, stats, and leaderboard.
• To power social features, such as showing your activity to friends you have connected with.
• To keep your account secure and authenticate you when you log in.
• To respond to feedback and support requests, and to improve the product.

Verse is social by design. Your profile, reading activity, stats, and leaderboard standing can be visible to other Verse users, particularly people who follow you or whom you follow. Session notes you write may appear in your feed. If you would prefer something stay private, do not add it to a public field or a shared session note.

We rely on a small number of trusted providers to operate Verse:

• Supabase hosts our database and handles authentication. Your account and reading data are stored there.
• Open Library is queried to search for books and cover images when you add a title.
• Google Fonts serves the typefaces used on the site.
• Our hosting provider serves the website itself.

These providers process data only to provide their service to us, and we do not sell your personal information to anyone.

We use cookies and similar browser storage strictly to keep you signed in and to remember basic preferences. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

We keep your data for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account at any time, and you can ask us to remove your data by contacting us. When you delete your account, your reading data is removed from our active systems.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data. To exercise any of these, reach out through the in-app feedback form or the contact below and we will help.

Verse is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

We may update this policy as the product evolves. When we make material changes, we will update the date at the top of this page.
